Blog-Gartner MQ Data Integration

In the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant™ for Data Integration report, Denodo has been named a Leader, just as we have been in all releases of this same report since 2020.

To what do we owe this success? I feel that it rests on the logical approach that we leverage for data integration, supported by our mature data virtualization capabilities. If you ask our customers, who consistently give us ratings and recommendations in Gartner Peer Insights™ reports, I think they’ll agree.

Beyond Data Integration

Denodo was founded on the principles of data virtualization, and we have been honing these capabilities for nearly 25 years. Simply put, data virtualization delivers all of the benefits of replication, including immediate access, reportability, usage monitoring, and governance, all without replication and its associated costs.

However, the benefits of a logical approach extend beyond data integration. Today, many of our customers are leveraging cloud data lakehouses as the central platform for enterprise data, and many of these systems simplify and accelerate data integration, threatening to render extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes obsolete.

The Power of a Logical Approach

Data virtualization plays a dramatic new role in such scenarios, by enabling a layer of intelligence above not only the myriad applications and systems that are commonly found within a single data lakehouse, but also above the other cloud systems that an organization might leverage, as well as any on-premises systems that must remain in their separate repositories due to data privacy regulations.

Such a layer of intelligence can enable:

  1. Universal semantics, that immediately translate data into multiple, user-friendly “dialects” for different user groups, so data is immediately actionable to business users
  2. A global, yet flexible data security and governance program that operates across systems, applications, and data sources from a single point of control
  3. Financial operations (FinOps) capabilities, to monitor and optimize usage across the entire data infrastructure

Also, as companies race to create enterprise AI applications that generate reliable business value, they will need logical data management platforms, built on a solid data virtualization foundation, to unify and govern the data that feeds their large language models (LLMs), to reduce hallucinations and improve relevance and accuracy.

Look Far Ahead

Companies should strongly consider the Denodo Platform when they’re looking for an advanced, modern data integration solution that positions them for success both today and tomorrow.
